The person who inspired me to become an animator

I was in my seventh standard when this disease caught me.The disease is named as character animator.I saw a cartoon called looney tunes and that was it and at the end of the episode it would appear "Animated by CHUCK JONES" . I knew what i was going to become.

One day my class teacher asked everyone about their aim in life.Some said engineer,some doctors and the rest wanted to flow into the river of MBA.VIKAS SINGH thats me ,wanted to become a cartoon animator.The class teacher looked confused for a moment because he didnt even know about this disease.

I started researching on this disease.After 7yrs when i became a graduate in B.Com (hons) my parents sent me to mumbai because i found a course called MAYA which deals in 3d animation.BINGO!!!! I got what i wanted.

I was the luckiest guy in my class who pursued what he said.

These are sequence from the wall e half wake up scene and the vaccum cleaner chunk.These are thumbnails which could prove helpful to all the animators.These are important for the animators who do not find planning as an essential part.Everyone can see the output if the planning is brilliant.

Half-Pint Pygmy (1948)

Now here's a truly weird cartoon even by Tex Avery's standards. "Half-Pint Pygmy" (release date: 8/17/1948) is one of Avery's less known and rarely seen works, and it marks the fourth and final appearance of George and Junior.
These characters inspired by George and Lennie from John Steinbeck's depression-era novel "Of Mice and Men" have previously appeared in three very good and entertaining cartoons:

• Henpecked Hoboes (1946)

• Hound Hunters (1947)

• Red Hot Rangers (1947)

Then for some unknown reason, Avery decided to take away nearly all of George and Junior's specific traits. The relationship between characters in "Mice and Men" style has almost completely vanished. The voices were changed too. Most significantly, Irv Spence's excellent and very funny character design was scraped in favor of a new design by Louie Schmitt that depicts George and Junior as relatively bland and generic cartoon bears.

Tex Avery's best cartoons are brilliantly structured and constructed, but "Half-Pint Pygmy" plays almost as an abstract collection of random crazy gags that barely have a connection with each other. There's an odd and somewhat detached feeling about it that I don't have when watching any other Avery's MGM cartoon. However, there are many positive things to recommend about "Half-Pint Pygmy". The animation is top notch, with some especially nice and clear examples of anticipation (if there's interest, I'll post a more complete series of screenshots for some of these scenes). Also, many of the gags are very inventive, unusual and bizarre. In a way, this might be one of the ultimate chase cartoons.

Due to heavy racial stereotypes, this cartoon has been banned from TV for the last few decades, and it was also omitted from French Tex Avery DVD box set (together with "Uncle Tom's Cabana").

Do you really think that animation is the invention of people of the 18th and 19th century,then you are wrong.Here's what I've found out about the origin of animation

Evidence of artistic interest in depicting figures in motion can be seen as early as the still drawings of Palaeolithic cave paintings, where animals are depicted with multiple sets of legs in superimposed positions, clearly attempting to convey the perception of motion.^[1] Other examples include a 5,200-year old earthen bowl found in Iran in Shahr-i Sokhta and an ancient Egyptian mural. The Persian bowl has five images painted along the sides, showing phases of a goat leaping up to nip at a tree.^[2]^[3] The Egyptian mural, approximately 4000 years old, shows wrestlers in action.

Seven drawings by Leonardo da Vinci (ca. 1510) extending over two folios in the Windsor Collection, Anatomical Studies of the Muscles of the Neck, Shoulder, Chest, and Arm, show detailed drawings of the upper body (with a less-detailed facial image), illustrating the changes as the torso turns from profile to frontal position and the forearm extends.

Even though all these early examples may appear similar to a series of animation drawings, the lack of equipment to show the images in motion means that these image series are precursors to animation and cannot be called animation in the modern sense. They do, however, indicate the artists' intentions and interests in depicting motion.

Charles Martin "Chuck" Jones (September 21, 1912 – February 22, 2002) was an American animator, cartoon artist, screenwriter, producer, and director of animated films, most memorably of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts for the Warner Bros. Cartoons studio. He directed many of the classic short animated cartoons starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, Sylvester, Pepé Le Pew and the other Warners characters, including Duck Amuck, One Froggy Evening and What's Opera, Doc? (all three of which were later inducted into the National Film Registry) and Jones' famous "Hunting Trilogy" of Rabbit Fire, Rabbit Seasoning, and Duck! Rabbit! Duck! (1951–1953).

After his career at Warner Bros. ended in 1962, Jones started Sib Tower 12 Productions and began producing cartoons for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, including a new series of Tom and Jerry shorts and the television adaptation of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!. He later started his own studio, Chuck Jones Productions, which created several one-shot specials, and periodically worked on Looney Tunes related works.

hi people this is vikas new blogger
im an animator.Im here to tell you about animation and indian animation.
i want you look at the present level of animation in full feature animation movies that has been performed by indian animation industry.The studios here are still doing a freelancing job for foreign delegates while the foreign studios are releasing a new animated feature every year.
In indian film industry only one movie has earned well so far that is "HANUMAN" which is a 2d movie....while only two of the 3d movies has been released (roadside romeo and Krishna) and the industry is in a pause mode.
We can se the level of concept that has been potrayed in roadside romeo and krishna....aweful....
these movies are nowhere near movies like Wall E and Kung fu Panda .It will take more 50 years for INDIA to come up with a concept like Wall e and Kung fu panda.
And one more shameful news for indian animated films is the new movies KUCHI KUCHI HOTA HAI.....which is again based on love life of dogs and i bet you will b dissappointed by watching the trailer itself here you go
